HIFU Vaginal Rejuvenation

Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation can help you if you suffer from vaginal atrophy. which is caused by the drop in estrogen. This naturally occurs in the run-up to and during the menopause. You may feel dryness, loss of muscle tone and pain during intercourse.

We offer two types of laser rejuvenation, one is carried out using HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) and the other uses a pixilated carbon dioxide (CO2) laser.

What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?

It is a laser procedure which stimulates collagen growth in the vaginal wall so that your vagina regains elasticity, becomes plumper and better hydrated.

What are the benefits of Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Your vaginal walls will be thicker and stronger and will lose any dryness. This will increase your sexual enjoyment and slow down the effects of aging.

How is the procedure carried out?

A small laser is inserted into your vagina which emits low energy pulses that penetrate your vaginal wall and stimulate collagen growth. The HIFU treatment is a gentle application of high intensity ultrasound which goes deep into the tissue. CO2 treatment is more intense and you may feel some slight discomfort.

How long does it take?

Both procedures take less than half an hour. You will probably be at the clinic around an hour.

Is it painful?

Some women have said the CO2 treatment is slightly uncomfortable, but the majority of women don’t feel any pain. The HIFU is very gentle. If you are particularly nervous about the procedure, have a chat with us about it during your first consultancy visit.

Do I need to take time off work, or stay indoors for the day?

No. You can get back to your normal activities straight away. You are advised not to do any exercise for 24 hours and you will have to refrain from sexual intercourse for 5 or 6 days.

Will I need more than one treatment?

If you have the CO2 treatment you will probably only need one session. The HIFU treatment will require 2 or 3 treatments because it isla more delicate application.

How long does the treatment last?

The treatment lasts a long time, although you may be advised to have a top treatment between a year and eighteen months because changing hormones will affect your vaginal area as you age.

If you would like to talk about CO2 or HIFU vaginal rejuvenation, please contact us to make an appointment for a consultation and we will advise you on the best treatment to suit your needs.
